Once the Peace Pole is installed we suggest you participate in a Peace Pole ceremony.  At the ceremony the Universal message ‘May Peace Prevail on Earth’ could be recited in each of the four languages selected to go on the Peace Pole.  Peace Pole event kits are available for free when placing your order.  

The way you 'plant' or install your Peace Pole will differ for each setting. For a private home garden, planting the pole with packing soil, loose gravel, or sand at its base may be sufficient. In a park or public setting, school or location where better stability is needed we suggest placing the Peace Pole 60cm in the ground and set it in with redi-mix concrete, making sure it is secure.

We suggest you place your Peace Pole in an area that provides an opportunity for children and adults to reflect and feel at peace.  You may like to plant a tree alongside it, such as a native tree with shade, and add seating close by, like a bench or large rock. Or perhaps place near a water feature, or plant flowers or native shrubs at its base. It's all up to you!

If a timber pole is preferred please source this locally. The size should be 90mm x 90mm x 2400mm in length. To complete the timber Peace Pole the top is to be cut on a 45 - degree angle on each side.

Durable timber can be sourced at a timber or hardware store or maybe collaborate with your local Men’s Shed or school. The Pole should preferably be painted with white enamel ( with a tannin resistant undercoat) or stained with marine varnish. If prefered you can paint it to blend in with any associated surrounding infrastructure.

We recommend metal plaques for your wooden Peace Pole. The Peace Pole plaques are then attached to the pole using stainless steel screws.
