In 2025 it was 80 years since the atomic attacks on Japan. Many students would be unaware of the devastating effects ofthe atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan inAugust 1945, 80 years ago this year. Sadly, the generationaltrauma is still being felt in those societies today.

Twelve South Australian peace organisations have prepared activities and events to support schools and community in sharing information about the atomic bombings and to highlight the ongoing impact on society and the importance of promoting peace.
